More Recipes for "Puddings in a Jar"

Once you've mastered the basic 'Pudding in a Jar' recipe, start to get inventive and create different variations of the puddings. We have here some recipes from one of our receptionists Holly Wild, who is also a qualified Naturopath.

Spiced Carrot Chia Pudding


  • 1 dessertspoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • 1/2 an apple grated
  • 1 teaspoon of allspice
  • 1/4 cup natural yoghurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 dessertspoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 dessertpoon almond butter
  • Frozen or fresh blueberries


  1. Make chia pudding at the bottom of a jar/glass with the almond milk. Leave it to set.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the grated aple, grated carrot and allspice.
  3. In another bowl, mix the turmeric and yoghurt.
  4. Layer the ingredients, and top it off the with berries and almond butter. 

Apple Pie Chia Pudding


  • 1 dessertspoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 apple chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup crushed walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of natural yoghurt


  1. Stew the apple, nutmeg and cinnamon in a small saucepan on low heat until soft.
  2. Make chia pudding with the coconut milk at the bottom of a glass or jar and let it set.
  3. Add the layer of crushed walnuts, and then add the stewed apple on the top. 
  4. Finish off with the layer of yoghurt, and sprinkle with more cinnamon and nutmeg.

Lemon and Fig Chia Cake


  • 1 dessertpoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 a lemon juiced
  • 1 fresh fig
  • 1 teaspoon shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup crushed almonds/walnuts.


  1. Mix the crushed nuts and coconut, and pack into the bottom of a jar/glass.
  2. In a separate bowl, make chia pudding with the coconut milk and lemon juice 
  3. While this is setting, cut the fig lengthways and place in around the edge of the jar/glass. Once the chia mix has started to thicken up, spoon it into the jar so that it holds the figs in place.

Blackforest Chia Pudding


  • 1 dessertspoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup of vanilla pot set yoghurt
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of raw cacao
  • 10 cherries pitted and sliced in half
  • 1/4 cup of crushed mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, pistachios)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • A sprinkle of mixed seeds (linseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc)


  1. Combine the vanilla essence with the mixed nuts and pack into the pbottom of a jar/glass.
  2. Make chia pudding in a separate bowl with the vanilla yoghurt and raw cacao, and once it has started to set, spoon over the layer of nuts.
  3. Finish with a layer of cherries and a sprinkle of mixed seeds.
